Alcumus SafeContractor

We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded top safety accreditation from Alcumus SafeContractor for achieving excellence in health and safety in the workplace.

The Alcumus SafeContractor Scheme

The scheme is run and assessed by the Alcumus Group, a leading third party accreditation scheme which examines businesses’ assesses health and safety procedures, as well as their track record for safety.

The scheme provides technology-led, compliance risk management certification and accreditation which helps companies ensure that they are complying with the latest legislation, as well as creating the safest possible working environments. It is used by thousands of organisations in the UK, from SMEs to FTSE 100 companies. Those organisations meeting the high standard are included on a database, which is accessible to registered users via the SafeContractor website.

Through the SafeContractor website, employer-organisations are able to vet potential contractors without even having to set foot on site.

Managing Director at SEP, Oliver Brooks, was delighted with the outcome of the process, saying; “Achieving this accreditation demonstrates that our health and safety documentation is not only up to date, but that it also adheres to stringent industry standards.

“Ultimately, we hope that it will enhance SEP’s ability to attract new customers and win new contracts.”

Uniform Health and Safety Standard

As a business which specialises in a number of roles, including surveying, engineering and construction, incorporating a uniform health and safety standard right across SEP is of paramount importance. This demonstrates to customers and potential customers that the company holds the relevant health and safety paperwork required to meet stringent industry standards.

Gemma Archibald, Chief Operating Officer at Alcumus Accreditation, said; “Major organisations simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies in place.

“More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that SEP has done. The firm’s high standard has set an example which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector. SafeContractor plays a vital role in supporting our clients in meeting their compliance needs, whilst working with their contractors as they progress through the accreditation process.”

SEP Managing Director, Oliver Brooks, added; “SEP is proud to have achieved SafeContractor accreditation. We take our health and safety commitment very seriously, so we are obviously delighted that this commitment has been recognised.”
