Worcester, UK (December 2020) — The Survey School has received three Spectra Geospatial SP85 GNSS receivers with Ranger 7 data collectors from SEP Geospatial. Operated by The Survey Association (TSA), the UK trade body for commercial survey companies, The Survey School provides training to the whole survey and construction industry.
The SP85 GNSS receivers and Ranger 7 data collectors will be used in the school’s flagship TSA surveying course and its GNSS and 5-Day Surveying Short Course.
Manager of the Survey School, Alan Mansell, FCInstCES, said, “We believe that the best training can only be delivered using the best equipment and technology available. Having seen the Spectra equipment demonstrated, it became apparent that choosing the Spectra SP85 and Ranger 7 would not be a difficult decision to make. I cannot thank SEP and Spectra Geospatial enough for their generous support and commitment to the surveyors who train at our school and for the profession as a whole. The future of geospatial surveying lies with the partnerships among all involved, equipment manufacturers and suppliers, educators and students alike. We at TSA and The Survey School hope that this is the start of a relationship that will encourage a new generation of surveyors.”
“Spectra Geospatial is proud the SP85 was chosen for instructing the UK’s next generation of accredited surveyors. The advanced technology SP85 will well prepare the students for the future of surveying,” said Olivier Casabianca, vice president of Spectra Geospatial.
The Spectra Geospatial SP85 is the newest GNSS receiver that combines decades of GNSS RTK technology with revolutionary new GNSS processing. Featuring the new 600-channel “7G” chipset combined with the patented Z-Blade technology, the SP85 system is optimized for tracking and processing signals from all GNSS constellations in challenging environments.
With unmatched connectivity in the GNSS receiver market, the SP85 offers a unique combination of integrated 3.5G cellular, L-band satellite capable GNSS antenna, WiFi and UHF communications with SMS, email and anti-theft technology.
The Ranger 7 Data Collector, with its rugged and sunlight readable 7-inch touch screen, full keypad, and Windows 10 Pro operating system, is built to hit the mark for surveyors requiring an easy-to-use, rugged, cost-effective data collector.
The Ranger 7 comes with either Survey Pro or Layout Pro depending on your needs. With the full-features Windows 10 operating system, the Ranger 7 can also handle many other apps that will help make you more productive.
