The SX12 combines surveying, imaging, and 3D scanning into a single instrument. This integration of multiple separate steps helps surveyors save time in any type of surveying project, and it can make use of various survey accessories.
Surveying uses
The SX12 can be used across a variety of surveying projects due to its impressive functionality, along with its combined measuring and scanning capabilities.
Boundary and land title surveys
The SX12 can easily measure buildings, boundaries, easements, and other land survey features. This is especially valuable for civil engineering and home improvement projects. When it comes to staking out, the SX12 can be operated by a one-person crew thanks to its ability to stake out points automatically. If it’s surface inspections you need to complete, point clouds are colour-coded so you can easily reference notable features and irregularities.
Supporting mining operations
The SX12’s laser pointer and compatibility with Trimble Access Tunnels field software make it ideal for underground construction surveys. In this setting, it can also be used for setting out blast holes, Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) guidance, and other 3D imaging and setting out tasks. A particularly beneficial feature is the SX12 laser pointer, which autofocuses to enable accurate measurements even at long distances and in low light.
This instrument guarantees precision through Trimble’s Mag-Drive technology and IP55 rating. The former ensures precise instrument movements, while the latter protects the components from challenging dust and moisture conditions underground.
