Why Choose the Trimble X7?
The Trimble X7 is designed to make a surveyor’s job as easy as possible. No time is wasted with laborious set ups, and the results can be viewed on site in real time. The Trimble Registration Assist registers scans and images together on site, which can be linked to a project with georeferencing.
Despite being a generation behind the Trimble X9, the X7 gives an impressive performance. It is still exceedingly user-friendly – with auto-calibrating and self-levelling technology, saving time in the field.
Although less adaptable than the X9 and other leading scanners, such as the SX12 and Leica RTC360. However, its specifications are highly competitive, with an 80m scan range and accuracy of up to 2mm. The Trimble X7 is considerably more affordable than its next-generation counterparts, and dealers are still familiar with performing maintenance on this system, so you’ll still get years of use from the scanner.

The Trimble X7 features auto-calibration, self-levelling, and registers scans and images on-site. It’s durable and highly functional in tough conditions.
The X7 scanner is fully integrated with the new Trimble Perspective software, specifically designed for in-field control and complete registration. Combined with the Trimble Perspective Mobile App, this enables scans and images to be captured, fully registered together, refined, controlled and exported to a variety of established data formats for Trimble and non-Trimble software suites.
Surveying uses
The light, compact design makes the laser scanner easy to transport and set up in less accessible spots. As a result, the Trimble X7 has a wide range of uses:
- Building construction
- Topographic surveys
- Historic preservation and documentation
- Forensic scenes
- Industrial survey
- Civil infrastructure
- Tank inspection and calibration
