Over the years, SEP has gone from strength to strength, continually evolving our existing divisions and branching out into new areas of the on-site construction industry. Housing our collective services and expertise under one roof, SEP are in a unique position that allows us to provide our clients with a specialist multi-faceted solution that can satisfy all of their projects’ requirements.
Traditionally, a client would rely on several suppliers to each work on a certain area of their project. This would involve the client speaking to each of these suppliers individually to coordinate all of these activities, which takes up their valuable time and resources. Our one-stop shop solution streamlines this process massively; the constant communication between our divisions and our extensive capabilities saves our clients’ time and resources, and ensures that all aspects of their project are completed on time, on spec and on budget. Our extensive resources and highly efficient infrastructure enables us to offer a variety of services including professional construction supervision services.
We are at the forefront of new technologies, developments and equipment meaning we can offer the very latest equipment in our shop including the most precise total stations. We also provide the most reliable, professional and affordable survey equipment services in the industry as we offer survey equipment repair and survey equipment hire. We have teamed up with some of the best brand names in the industry to not only provide the best equipment possible but at the most competitive price. We are Authorised Trimble, FARO, Nikon, Spectra Geospatial & SECO distributors. We have our own Trimble authorised service station with specialist technicians trained in Europe by Trimble to provide support and assistance for any servicing, damages and technical issues or faults to ensure you receive minimum downtime on site.
We pride ourselves on providing you with a solution, not just a service. Our after-sales support team have years of experience on-site using the exact equipment that we sell. Our experts are always on hand to provide technical support, advice on how best to use the equipment, add-ons and extras to get the most out of your time and the equipment.

Drew Arscot
Regional Sales Director
SEP GeospatialDrew Arscott has worked in the surveying industry for almost twenty-five years, initially as a chainlad with the Road Management Group working on the A1(M) Alconbury to Peterborough project, before progressing to a Junior Surveyor role. In 1998, Drew joined SCCS – The Survey Equipment Company – having dealt with them as a supplier while working on the A1 project.
Over the course of twenty years at SCCS, Drew carried out a number of roles, from driver to technical support to sales. He eventually became a key national account manager, bringing in a revenue of over £5m per annum. In 2018, having dealt with SEP as a customer, Drew joined the company as regional sales director, bringing with him a wealth of experience and an unrivalled knowledge of the surveying industry.
Drew claims to sleep, eat and breathe all things surveying, but when he does unwind, he can often be found manning the BBQ, come wind, rain or sun, most likely with a drink in his hand.
Luke Nixon
Operations Director
SEP EngineersLuke Nixon has been working at SEP since 2014, when he was approached by the company to grow the professional services offering – quantity surveying, planning and construction management among other things. Prior to that, Luke has worked in construction recruitment, specialising in the placement of construction professionals, and in particular, site engineers.
Luke’s original passion was art, completing an Art Foundation course after he had left school, and subsequently studying Advertising Design at Newcastle College. His career path seemed to be going in a very different direction. However, his creative thinking and flexibility ensured he became a successful recruiter and it’s no doubt that these attributes have been a major part of SEP’s growth. Luke became a director of the company in 2018.
When he’s not working, Luke still has a passion for all things artistic and claims he was once a budding DJ, something he still dabbles in to this day.
Ben Johnson
Director
SEP GeospatialBen Johnson originally joined SEP straight from school, fulfilling a number of roles in his late teens and early twenties when his father owned the business, before pursuing a career as a chef. With first class management and leadership skills, as well as the ability to remain calm when under pressure, Ben became a highly regarded private chef working for wealthy individuals across the UK and Europe.
Since rejoining the new-look SEP in 2017, Ben has performed a variety of roles within SEP Geospatial, including managing the hire fleet, logistics planning and client liaison. His prior experience has proven invaluable, giving him the drive and focus to ensure that SEP Geospatial delivers the best possible customer service to its clients. Ben became a director of SEP Geospatial in 2020.
Away from SEP, Ben has a passion for the great outdoors and likes nothing better than to be flyfishing for trout or climbing a mountain.
Tom Grant
Director
SEP SubsurfaceTom Grant is the Managing Director and Co-Founder of SEP Subsurface, implementing his passion for technology and, in particular, ground penetrating radar (GPR) to establish the company early in 2020. The company is a totally independent and fully authorised distributor of geophysical and subsurface scanning equipment, operating in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
Tom had always enjoyed the application of science and, in a bid to become the next Heston Blumenthal, initially applied his interest to catering. Several years later, and now working front of house, a chance conversation prompted a change of career. His journey in GPR had begun and he’s never looked back. Working for a well-known equipment supplier, and increasing the demand for its GPR gear exponentially, Tom saw a gap in the market for a specialist in subsurface scanning equipment. The rest is history.
Outside work, Tom joins his local cricket team for the odd friendly Sunday game – no sledging allowed on Sundays! He also enjoys going to driven game shoots through the winter season.
